My Trip In Scotland !!

Day 1 :

The appointment was at 9am near the Butsport. When everyone was ready, we started. After nearly two hours we stopped for a break. Then we went to the port of Antwerp where we entered the King Of Scandinavia, the boat that we needed to take to go to Newscatle. The boat was so luxurious ! I've never seen it before ! There were a lot of restaurants, cinemas, bars and a nightclub. After putting our bags in our cabins we went on deck , there was a lot of wind ! On the evening we stayed in a bar where there were some concerts ; It was EXCELLENT !!

Day 2 :

The night was excellent ! I felt like a baby with the movements of our boat. After breakfast, we reached Newcastle. Then we drove up to Edinburgh where a guide was waiting for us. Edimbourg is the capital of Scotland. It's a so interesting city ! With our guide we visited the New Town and the Old Town. I prefered the Old Town, with the Royal Mile.

Then we continued the journey to our hostel : "The Spittal of Glenshee” . It's a little hostel with a lot of little lovely quarters and a main building where there is a bar, a refectory and some rooms with pool table and darts. We put our bags and we had dinner in the refectory. There we met "Mr CAVA CA VA", an excellent cook who was always smiling :D. After the meal, we tested some whiskey and played darts. Then we went back our quarters to sleep.

Day 3 :

With some friends we decided to get up at 6am to walk in the mountains surrounding our hostel. Yes, you have to know that our hostel was surrounding by a lot of lovely little mountains. So we get up and started our ascent. When we arrived on the top of the mountain the view was magnificent, I'll never forget it! Then we get down because we had to have a shower before having breakfast. But the shower was occupied so we started to wash ourself in the river. BRrrr it wasn't very hot ^^ but it was funny.

After the breakfast we went to Pitlochry, a little town, to visit a distillery of single malt whisky: " The Blair Athol ". Our guide was a typical scottish and the visit was very interesting. Then we had some time to eat in Pitlochry and with some friends we entered in a kind of "friterie" where we ate Fish and Chips and Haggis. We also spoke with the cook who was very funny.

Then we went to Blair Castle, it's the only castle where there is still a private army, the Atholl Highlanders. After playing in the castle's playground we went back to our hostel where we spent another nice evening before sleeping.

Day 4

On this day we decided to get up at 5am to walk in another mountain. When we arrived on the top of this mountain, we saw the sunrise, another landscape that I'll never forget! And after having a shower and a delicious breakfast we went to Jedburgh, the last village of Scotland before England. Then we went back to Newcastle to take our boat, always the King of Scandinavia, to sail back to Amsterdam. For this evening we had dinner in a restaurant, the meal was huge and so delicious! Then we stayed all the evening and a little of the night in a bar where we danced and drank some beers. It was excellent!

Day 5

After a nice breakfast we arrived in Amsterdam where we entered in the bus to go back to Chimay. Everybody was tired and most of us slept during the journey. When we arrived in Chimay everybody was happy to see again their family but I'm sure that they were sad too.

I always remember this trip in Scotland, and I'm sure I'll go there again in my life! Thanks !

Kula Shaker-Hush

Kula Shaker is an English multi-platinum selling psychedelic rock band who came to prominence during the Britpop era. I wanted to speak about them because Alonza Bevan ( The bassist ) is living with his (belgian) wife and his son in Lompret. YES , L-O-M-P-R-E-T !!

Most of you know that I'm in the CAVALO ( Centre d'Animation de VAulx et LOmpret ) and when our president told me the new I didn't believe that ^^ !

I didn't know very well Kula Shaker before that but for an exemple , Before OASIS ( Everybody Know OASIS ) , Kula Shaker was as know as OASIS and sold the same number of album . They are still very know today !!

So, I speak about it because last week it was the carnaval of Vaulx and Lompret ( Yes there is a little carnaval in Vaulx and Lompret ^^ ) and for that , we visited families to ask melk,eggs,...to prepare pancake and omelet to serve people during the fire in the evening.

And we went to Alonza's house too. But Alonza wasn't single...the drummer Paul Winterhart was here too !! So a friend and I decided to ask an autograph (:p) and we started to speak with Alonza and Paul. They told me that they were reccording the drum in the studio ( Alonzo built a studio in his house ) , that the singer ( Crispian Mills ) was in lompret the week before and that next week the keyboarder ( Harry Broadbent ) was going to reccord too . Then they gave us an autograph . And we left them .

I'm really happy to have met them and now when I see Kula Shaker on youtube It's great to recognize Alonza and Paul .

This titel, HUSH , is a cover of DEED PURPLE ... I really love this song !!

ENJOY !!

Hi !

Hello everybody !!

I'm Benoît Mullen, I'm 17 and I live in Baileux, near Chimay ( in Belgium).

I was born in chimay and I live in Baileux with my brothers and my parents. I come from a big, loing family with two brothers and three sisters. I was brought up with a lot of love, laughter and music by my parents who are very kind people. My father works in a school, and my mother is a nurse.

I study at the College Saint-Joseph of Chimay. I'm in my last year and I'm studying maths and sciences. Before that I had studied Greek. Next Year I'm going to study math in Namur to become a math teacher. I've always wanted to be a teacher and to teach the younger students because I know it'll be a pleasure for me!

I love music and nature. I often visit the countryside by foot and I love to camp in a place just to look at the wildlife. I also play music in a band. I play the bass guitar, the guitar and the ukulele. My proudest moment was my first concert with my band. I felt so excited and it was so much fun!

I'm really motivated in all situations and I can easily adapt myself against every difficulty.

My motto is...

Enjoy life until the end!
